Tactical Fixed Blade Knives are knives that are used explicitly for self-defense purposes.  The top knives in this category are:

  1. US Army Ka-Bar –

The U.S Army knife is a fixed-blade tactical knife that has an overall length of 11 7/8″ with an attached Clip Point blade design that measures 7″ in length.  It has a Saber Grind and is made of a non-stainless, 1095 Cro-Van, high carbon, Plain Tool Steel along with a Rockwell Hardness of 56-58 HRC.

  1. SOG Pentagon –

This knife features an overall length of 9 3/4″ with an attached Spear Point blade design that measures 5″ in length. This is also has a Double Bevel Grind that is made from AUS-8 stainless steel that has a Rockwell Hardness of 57-58 HRC.

  1. Gerber Silver Trident  –

This knife was designed partly by Chief Jim Watson, who was an original plank holder of the SEAL Team 2. This is a fixed blade knife that is entirely tactical.  Additionally, the blade is heat-treated and is made of 154CM steel with a Rockwell Hardness of 59-61.

  1. Cold Steel Trail Master –

The Cold Steel Trail Master is an overall fixed-blade Bowie Knife. It has a length of 14 1/2″ along with a Clip Point blade design that measures 9 1/2″ in length. You can choose between either laminated San Mai III steel with a Flat Grind and an unknown Rockwell Hardness or non-stainless O1 high carbon Plain Tool Steel.

Category B – Folding Knives 

Folding knives are either used for mission-ready tactical purposes or if you want one to show off to your friends. The top 5 folding knives are:

  1. BenchmadeGriptillian –

It measures a closed length of 4 5/8″ inches along with a 3 5/8” Drop Point blade made using 154CM stainless steel that has Saber Grind and a Rockwell Hardness of 59-61 HRC.

  1. Gerber Covert W/F.A.S.T. –

This knife is based on an improvised version of the ever-famous British Sykes-Fairbairn fixed-blade dagger that used to be utilized by the soldiers of the British Army during World War II.

  1. Benchmade Model 531 –

Designed by Joe Pardue, it was used as a more rugged version of the 530 model. It has a manual opening folding feature in addition to which it has a length of 4 3/16″ inches and a 3 1/4” Drop Point blade made from 154CM of stainless steel.

  1. Cold Steel Hold Out  II –

This knife was designed to be easily concealable, and for this purpose, it appears exceptionally thin. The length is 5″ along with a Spear Point blade design that measures 4″ in length and a Fat Grind that is made of CTS-XHP stainless steel that has an unknown Rockwell Hardness.
